A healthy breakfast is necessary if you want to be active and energetic throughout the day. The problem with breakfast is often that we do not have time for it or we just think that if we eat breakfast we will gain weight, which is obviously not true.
Unfortunately our breakfast often consists of either too greasy products (fried eggs, sausages, salami, cheese), or dishes with a lot of sugars in them (milk with various additives, chocolate, etc.), which makes us feel full only for a while and we have to eat a lot more often. Our first meal of the day should contain a balanced amount of protein, fat, carbohydrates and fiber that will allow the body to “wake up” and start working in the mornings. It is necessary to have breakfast rich in carbohydrates – this will not only help you lose weight, but it‘s also important for your health. It is believed that about 55% of our daily energy intake should come from carbohydrates and half of these carbohydrates are better to be from whole cultures. To help you get all of the healthy ingredients, including carbohydrates, here are some recipes that you can try for a better start of the day:
Oatmeal, strawberries and almonds
You can add little cinnamon and honey to your oatmeal with strawberries and almonds. If you prefer them with milk, choose skimmed. This snack is high in proteins, healthy fats and cellulose. It‘s also delicious and not time consuming.
Add onions, peppers and other vegetables, little soy sauce and spices and sauté in olive oil. This dish is best for a late breakfast or even lunch and gives you enough energy to go through the rest of the day.
Grapefruit, whole wheat bread or biscuits with almond butter
Almond oil is more useful than peanut butter. You’ll be surprised how tasty this breakfast is no matter how strange it sounds.
Salad of fresh fruit
Cut apples, watermelon, berries, oranges, pears, bananas, grapes, etc. For a more distinctive taste, add some yogurt or lemon juice.
Actually it is a dairy cocktail with fruits. In the mixture, you can add oatmeal or seeds.
Eggs with Vegetables
Stew eggs in olive oil and add them to the vegetables – peppers, onions, broccoli, etc. Add spices to your taste.
Full breakfast with fruit salad
Fruit salad of apples, berries, oranges, pears, bananas, grapes and yogurt. If you love to experiment, you can add 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed juice.
